C. Yudofsky, MD, is the D.C. and Irene Ellwood Professor and Chairman of
the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences of Baylor College of
Medicine. He is the Chief of Psychiatry Service at The Methodist Hospital
and is also responsible for oversight of academic activities in psychiatry
at the Ben Taub General Hospital, the Houston Veterans Administration Medical
Center, the St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital, the Texas Children's Hospital,
and the DePelchin Children's Center.
Dr. Yudofsky's research and clinical practice focuses in two areas: psycho-pharmacology (the use of medications to treat mental illnesses) and neuropsychiatry. For the past 12 years, he has been editor of the Journal of Neuropsychiatry and Clinical Neurosciences, and served as President of the American Neuropsychiatric Association. Additionally, he has authored and co-edited 25-plus medical books in the field. Dr. Yudofsky is member of numerous medical societies and has received numerous awards including the 1995 Ima Hogg Award for outstanding service to the mentally ill community of Houston and Harris County.
